Hi Gorgeous Mamas!
I debated for awhile on writing a post about self-care, which is ironic because I’m sitting here after taking a weekend off of work due to a very strained back. And if I actually had to take a weekend off and ask for help and go to the doctor, you know it’s bad because I am TERRIBLE at accepting or admitting I need help. ๐
So instead of preaching about self-care which I’m obviously not that great at currently, I thought I’d do a little mini spa-water recipe, which is sort of like a little self care in a cup. ๐ You know how every wellness tip starts with drinking more water? I always roll my eyes at that, but when I started paying attention to how much actual water I consume – not counting coffee and tea – it’s pretty bad! But I’ve been more *intentional* about it, and realized that I much prefer hydrating in the form of fancy iced spa-water. I LOVE having lemons or limes around now so I can make this daily, and the health benefits of drinking lemon juice are ๐๐. For sweetener I’ve tried vanilla creme stevia drops, xylitol, an erythritol mix, or equal (which admittedly is NOT truly healthy for you so even though I prefer the flavor, I only make it this way as a special treat), but it’s even great unsweetened. Just depends how you like it! ๐ฟ
Get creative and find your perfect mix and let me know what you think! Let’s up our hydration, mamas! ๐
Fancy Spa Water
Ingredients:
- fresh drinking water
- the juice of one large lemon or lime
- *optional* sweetener of choice (stevia, xylitol, erythritol, etc)
- frozen fruit (love frozen blueberries here, but I bet frozen strawberries/melon balls/peach slices would be perfect too!)
- *optional* mint leaf, slightly crushed
- fancy cup and straw ๐
Method:
- Mix together all ingredients and Enjoy!
